Default 18 TV Shows That Never Jumped the Shark

I've been a huge fan of Jump the Shark since the first time I saw the site. Today I came across the page where they listed the shows that had an overwhelming number of votes for "Never Jumped the Shark". The shows included:

1- The Simpsons
2- WKRP in Cincinatti (A favorite of mine, unfortunately still unavailable on DVD and likely to never be available on DVD because of the music issues.)
3- The Tick (the cartoon, not the live action series)
4- Homefront (I've never seen this show - anyone here know anything about it?)
5- The Dick Van Dyke Show (I watched this about the same time as I Love Lucy and Bewitched and stuff like that, and The Dick Van Dyke Show is the one that stands out as never being bad at all.)
6- The Critic
7- Police Squad!
8- The Prisoner
9- Barney Miller (God, another of my favorites.)
10- The Larry Sanders Show
11- The Odd Couple
12- The Young Ones
13- The Bob Newhart Show
14- Magnum PI
15- The Rockford Files
16- Freaks and Geeks
17- Saint Elsewhere
18- Fawlty Towers

Are there any shows on your list that never jumped the shark?

I disagree about the Simpsons... I think it jumped the shark a while ago... I don't think the Critic was actually on long enough to jump it. Um off the top of my head of shows that never jumped the shark, how bout Seinfeld?

The Prisoner (ran for 17 episodes)
The Young Ones (ran for 12 episodes)
Fawlty Towers (ran for 12 episodes)

IMHO, none of the above shows were around long enough to warrant inclusion on the list. While I'm a fan of all of these shows, they just weren't around long enough.

Freaks and Geeks, if I remember correctly, was only around for a season.

From what I remember, Magnum seemed to go downhill the last few years. It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I seem to recall feeling that way at the time.

I completely agree with the WKRP votes. An excellent show.

I would also vote for the following:
Arrested Development
Mr.Show
Chappelle's Show
Kolchak: The Night Stalker (but it only ran 1 season)

Seinfeld jumped the shark with the series finale. Dreadful.

I think the longer format hurt them. That, and they seemed to try and cram it full of too much stuff. Definitely not their finest moment.

My votes for shows that didn't:

Arrested Development
Cheers
Frasier
Carol Burnett Show
Drew Carey Show
Taxi

My votes for shows that did:

MASH
Miami Vice
JAG
Murphy Brown
