Looks like Season 3 will debut in October and show 4 new episodes. Then they'll take a break until February and show the rest of the season (this is according to TV Guide).

Why are many TV shows starting this trend? It's very aggravating.

Reaffirming the strength of TV-DVD, the season 2 set of "Lost" debuted at No. 1 on the national DVD sales chart for the week ending Sept. 10, while the acclaimed docudrama "United 93" came in at No. 2.

"Lost" is believed to be only the second TV-DVD set to snag the top spot on VideoScan's First Alert chart in its first week in stores. In May 2005, "Chappelle's Show: Season 2 Uncensored" debuted at No. 1, with first-day sales pegged by distributor Paramount at nearly 500,000 copies. The season 1 set of "Lost," released in September 2005, bowed at No. 2.

Only three days to go until the season premiere of Lost!

I read an interview recently where the creators of the show promised that Kate would "get together" with either Sawyer or Jack by episode 6.

My prediction is that one of them will get rubbed out afterwards. And after Season 2, it's time for a guy to die. My money is on Jack.

We've watched 16 episodes of Season 2, and it's amazing to me how Season 2 has been even better than Season 1. We're going to have to go on a Lost marathon in order to get the rest of the episodes in by Thursday's premiere, but we'll make it.

IS CLAIRE JACK'S HALF-SISTER?

That's the buzz - and it appears to be so. After losing his medical license for operating while drunk, Christian (Jack's surgeon-father, played by John Terry) fled to Australia, where he drank himself to death after attempting to visit his secret daughter. It went down like this: He showed up at the house of a curly-haired, blonde Aussie - Claire's lookalike mother? - and boozily demanded to see the girl. The woman refused. Jack arrived Down Under to bring Christian's body back to the U.S. and, in a made-for-television twist, wound up on the same ill-fated flight as Claire.

So did anybody watch the Season 3 opener last night? If so, what did you think about it?

I didn't see it because I was busy with my non-stop season 1 DVD marathon. A friend loaned it to me and I haven't been able to stop myself since. I had heard all the hype about the show but until now I had completely disregarded it. Well, no more. I'm hooked. I'm on it like Charlie on a Madonna statue. It's the crack cocaine of tv shows. I have to go now. My friend has season 2.

While it was the top-rated show of the night, the Season 3 debut of Lost was down about 5 million viewers from the Season 2 debut. Hmmmmm.

We're only 2 episodes into Season 3 and Sun has already smoked one of those pesky Others. Way to go, baby!

Good episode with Locke. Loved how they opened with a shot reminiscent of the pilot episode, with the camera panning down on Locke as he lays flat on the ground looking into the sky.

Looks like it's time for Locke to get back to jungle warfare. Wonder what kind of an army he and Eko can form.

The "meditation" sequence at the airport was interesting, especially with the Boone appearance. Hope they don't get too much into mystical seeming dream sequences, but this was pretty cool.

I wonder if Gale at the airport was just metaphorical. You think one of the other characters would have remembered that, if it actually happened.

Found it quite a hoot, the flashback with Locke at the pot farm. Maybe this explains the dream sequence on the island. Is he partaking of the local weed?

The preview of next week seems to show Kate admitting her love of Sawyer. I would be willing to bet there is more to this than meets the eye. They looked like they were trying to force her to say it, so it may be a coerced admission (for some strange reason) instead of a real admission. Or it may be simple editing. Just seems too juicy for a preview.
