Great season finale. Mass mayhem. People dying everywhere.
The blonde ... the brunette ... Tom or Mr. Friendly ... 7-10 other Others ... Bakunin ... and CHARLIE! Charlie was more likable in his last episode than any others. He seemed useful for once. I thought it was good that the writers played on the Charlie annoyance factor, having him annoy the blonde so much she wanted him to die a torturous death. That Bakunin is like a horror movie villain; he just doesn't stay dead. I assume he's finished now. At least he gave his life to take Charlie's. The flashback/flash forward with Jack was a really nice twist. Good stuff. Locke looks to have killed Naomi and was trying to shoot Jack, it looked like. Though he later refused to shoot him, it looks like Locke has become a complete wild card. Hurley was more than just comic relief, though his heroic scene was somewhat comic. Looks like Sawyer is becoming a hardened killer. This should become an interesting character "growth" to follow. Kate is rescued and pregnant, or so we are led to believe. We are also led to believe that one of the castaways was rescued, then died. Given the fact it was someone that no one attended his funeral and whose funeral Jack expected Kate might attend, I'm assuming that was Sawyer. All in all, good stuff. I find it disappointing they are waiting until February to restart the story, but at least they gave us a satisfying season finale. Unlike last year, we didn't have the heroes in captivity. The cliffhanger poses many questions, but at least the protagonists appear to be in control of their fate. It was very satisfying they more or less whacked all the Others. After three seasons of having the Others always one step ahead, it was about time. My guess is that Ben will be right, that the people Jack called are worse than the Others. They will become the new antagonists. I'm not sure how they will work the "everyone got rescued" story, but I'm interested to see how they do it. I'm assuming they won't spend whole stretches of the next season (and the rest of the series) out in the real world, but it will be interesting to see if we get other flashes forward after their release. Great finale. Kudos. |

I just this doesn't turn into some sort of "Return to Gilligan's Island" scenario, with everyone stranded back on the island.
Entertaining, but I'm wondering where they will go from here. Remember, there ar still 3 seasons to go. But at least Charlie is finally dead. ![]() |

Ok the first thing i thought of when i heard the name Jacob was the biblical Jacob. Jacob, in the Bible, was given a vision that the Jews would establish their own nation and that they would have a worldwide impact. His wife Rachel died giving birth to Jacob's last son...Benjamin.
What yall think? |

With the writers of this show, there's never any telling. You may have just figured it out. |
