There is a lot of pop music that is actually very good. In fact, I actually really enjoyed Avril's first album (mostly for it's production value). But the newer stuff I've heard is really kinda "blah". But, Marroon 5 (would you consider them pop) - love them. Justin Timberlake has really come into his own, and as a musician I really respect his game. I don't much like Gwen Stefani's music, but must admit that she is always pushing the envelope and trying new things. Thoughts? |

You read my mind. The new Maroon 5 album is excellent. I'm listening to it right now, in fact.

i think avril is nothin but fake. she goes around pretending to be this crazy rocker and her music is this bubble gum pop shit, with crappy lyrics, which she relentlessly keeps repeating through the song. i cant stand her.

Yeah - I thought her first album was actually saying something, but even then, she shouldn't have been trying to front like she was some hard core rocker, cause we can ALL see through that.

Avril Lavigne's "The Best Damn Thing" album is turning out to be just the opposite for the Canadian mall-punk singer, as yet another very much similar song comparison has come forward.
This time, it's a song by fellow Canadian female artist Peaches -- "I'm the Kinda," which was released in 2003, which sounds quite similar to Lavigne's new song "I Don't Have to Try." In both songs, a simple staccatto synthesized drum beat plays as the lyrics are delivered in a rap-like spoken word delivery. The vocals in both have nearly the same cadence. |

Didn't she get married to the guy from Sum41? If so, are they still together?

I'll admit the Avril single is catchy, and I respect the fact that she's a decent artist, but I'm not one who gives into the whole celebrity bullcrap, or keep track of he latest dating situation etc.
That kinda stuff makes me sick... |
