I doubt that anyone figured Madonna would be around for as long as she has back when she was singing Lucky Star and appearing in Desperately Seeking Susan.

Spears doesn't have any talent. I never claimed that she did.

I meant that she has an uncanny ability to stay in the headlines, just like Madonna has had through her career. Besides, Madonna can't keep acting like a 20-year-old forever. Someone else will eventually have to take over. Who else is going to do it? Beyonce? Mariah Carey? Carrie Underwood?

And I agree with you, Doom Girl. I believe most of Madonna's actions over the years have been carefully planned publicity stunts. Spears, on the other hand, it just an idiot.

After nearly a month of seclusion in a luxurious rehabilitation center, Britney Spears has moved on. The pop star checked out of Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility "after successfully completing their program," Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, said in a statement released by Jive Records late Tuesday.

He asked that Spears' privacy be respected.

Spears, 25, entered the facility Feb. 22, after a bout of bizarre behavior that included shaving her head, getting tiny lips tattooed on her wrist and beating a car with an umbrella. Photos of the incidents were instantly beamed worldwide.

Spears' activities have been fodder for weekly magazines and entertainment Web sites since she filed for divorce from aspiring rapper Kevin Federline in November, citing irreconcilable differences.

Under a temporary agreement, the two have joint custody of their sons, Jayden James, 6 months, and Sean Preston, 18 months. Federline and the children reportedly visited Spears during her treatment

i have always thought of britney as this conatant attention seeker, 1st it was he whole "i will remain a virgin till my wedding night" thingie, then once she has done it all of a sudden shes this ultra slutty piece of half naked ass..... then she wants a baby..... then she wants another one..... then divorces.... then rehab.... then flashing the fotohogs..... then going bald......OMG. when will it end.

It's really gotten out of hand. I will, however, be interested to see if it translates in additional album sales when her next one comes out. If not, I predit she'll be posing for Playboy within 5 years.
