According to reports online (Bleeding Cool), DC Comics is considering squeezing as much money as possible out of the Watchmen franchise. Since the film came out, it's become the company's best-selling book ever. In the past, boss Paul Levitz kept the Alan Moore graphic novel from being whored out, but things may soon change with his departure. In fact, Dan Didio is said to be making an expanded Watchmen universe his personal project.
Man, I bet Alan Moore is going crazy over this one. Then again, he should. Anything else they do with those characters will suck. Thoughts? |

I couldn't agree more. I hope the rumor proves to be unfounded, but the revenue they've seen from sales of the graphic novel post-movie may just be too much for them to resist. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Personally, I keep having nightmares about a fight between Superboy Prime and Dr. Manhattan. |
