The latest crossover series from DC comics. It will start with issue 51 and count down (one issue a week) to issue #0. Hope this one is better than the trainwreck that was "52".
- In some hidden torture lab, Desaad (resident interrogator of the New Gods’ Apokoliptic contingent) goes about his work as his master Darkseid ponders the fate of the DCU’s superheroes and his eventual subjugation of them. - Duela Dent, the self-proclaimed daughter of the Joker, is dancing at the club. She then proceeds to kidnap up-and-coming singer Tracey Angel, but she’s blocked by the Red Hood! While the pair tussle, Duela notes that she’s “from a neighboring Earth” before apparently leading the former Boy Wonder on a chase over Manhattan’s rooftops. - Meanwhile, Mary Marvel is checking out of the hospital thanks to the financial aid of Freddy Freeman (aka the new Captain Marvel). Unfortunately, Freddy doesn’t want to be found, and Mary is left out in the rain. - Some super villains get together to play poker! Hijinks ensue. - Duela Dent eludes Red Hood and runs into a Monitor who caps the poor girl with a laser rifle and kills her. Then, just around the time the Monitor is about to pop the arriving Red Hood, he’s blocked by another Monitor. Apparently, the more aggressive Monitor has turned against the rest of the Monitors who just observe and is now trying to “purge anomalies” from the timestream. The Monitor teleports out as the Red Hood discovers Duela’s body. - Later in space, a Monitor travels to the Source Wall (the barrier at the end of the universe made up of the bodies of the Old Gods and would-be cosmic conquerors) for clues as to what’s going on in the multiverse. The wall talks to him, warning of a “Great Disaster” and saying the only solution to the problem is “Ray Palmer.” |
