According to WizardUniverse.com: " Montoya and Nightwing are tearing one hellacious path through Gotham’s underworld in a bid to find Batwoman. Days of searching reveal absolutely zip.
- On the other side of the street, Bruno Mannheim and company are sitting pretty with the captured heroine as their mysterious and icky murder ritual can’t take place until the time is right or some such thing. Mannheim doesn’t take kindly to Abbot’s suggestion that the Book of Crime’s prophecies will end in ruin, and the wolfman is thrown out of Intergang. - Renee and Nightwing finally start to make some headway upon discovering a weird explosive drill-looking thingy and interrogating notorious underworld informant Sid the Squid. Oh wait…that’s just a dude who looks like a giant mutant squid. Our bad. When an attack from a demon-looking Interganger flares up, the duo is saved by the timely intervention of the scorned Abbot, who clues them in to Intergang’s plans to open up several outbursts of hellfire through Gotham…with a sacrificed Batwoman at the center! The team splits up with ’Wing and Abbot heading after the hellfire spires and Montoya going after her lady fair. But first, she finally takes the step she’s been avoiding by gooping up with the Question’s silly-putty facemask. Hooray for legacy heroes! - After breaking into Mannheim’s compound, the Question gets bum-rushed by a cobra dude. After making a quick escape, the faceless one pulls her ray gun on Mannheim, who’s busy plunging a knife into the chest of Batwoman as fire blazes all about. After knocking the super-mobster out, the Question races to Batwoman’s side where, surprise! Mannheim rebounds to steal his gun back. Luckily, before the Question goes out, Batwoman stabs Mannheim from across the room, giving us the happy ending we’ve all been waiting for. Wait…there’s hellfire all over Gotham and Batwoman has a hole in her chest. That isn’t happy at all. - And because no issue of 52 is complete without stopping by one of our other storylines, we learn that Egg Fu has put Black Adam up on the market to the highest bidder…a group that apparently includes the U.S. government and the JSA. Go fig." |
