1. Super Mario Bros. - The best-selling video game of all time.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_Bros. 2. Mike Tyson's Punch-Out - Another early Nintendo favorite, based on the popular arcade game. Unfortunately, you don't get to eat anyone's children or nibble on Evander Holyfield's ear. Maybe in the sequel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Tyson%27s_Punch-Out |

1. Asteroids - You spin around in circles and blast boulders. From time to time, an alien spacecraft will appear and fire at you. Sounds simple. Then why was it so addictive?
I remember "rolling" the score of this game on my Atari 2600 way back in a bygone era. What a geeky sense of pride I felt that day. 2. Dig-Dug - Another bizarre classic from the 80s. You tunnel around, decked out in some sort of futuristic miner's garb. Meanwhile, you're pursuing/being pursued by small dragons and other assorted odd creatures. When they get close enough, you can shoot a hose into their bodies, pump it up, and inflate them till they burst. Now that I think about it, that's just freakin' weird. |
