Default Spider-Man 3

With the phenomenal record-breaking success of Spider-Man, fans can look forward to future installments in the adventures of the Marvel hero. Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst return in Spider-Man 3 as Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. Bryce Dallas Howard, Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace join the cast as new characters.

The new trailer is out. Still looks cartoonish. I've never liked the Spidey movies but I thought the sequel was at least better than the first one. The train scene where the public got to see the man behind the mask was one of the best scenes I could recall from that film.

Yeah, that scene rocked hard. And, being female, I was naturally a sucker for the upside-down kiss in the first movie. Yum.

I can't believe that they're going to retro-con the story and make Sandman the person who actually killed Ben Parker. I could be wrong about this, but that's certainly the way it looked from the trailer.

If so, that's just a terrible idea. If the Sandman killed Uncle Ben, then why was that thief driving his car? Plus, it just kind of saps the life out of Spidey's origin. I don't know why these Hollywood goofs have to tinker with every little detail.

I couldn't agree more. That would be so wrong!
Or maybe, the thief is the same person before he became Sandman? I think they might use this as a cover-up?

I don't why they're even messing with the Sandman? Don't they have Venom and the Green Goblin to menace Spidey?

I'm guessing that the Venom storyline will play out through the film and he'll be set up to be the big villain in the next movie. So basically it will be Spidey having an internal struggle, plus seperate showdowns with Sandman and the Goblin.

There are some cool new images poster over at the official Spidey website. Not surprisingly, the visuals for the film kick ass.

"Spider-Man 3" is off and flying, with record-setting opening-day ticket revenues in Asia on Tuesday. The film, which opens in the United States on Friday, topped the first-day grosses for Spideys 1 and 2 in both Japan and South Korea.
It enjoyed the biggest opening-day ever for any film in Hong Kong and South Korea.

In Japan, the film's first day brought in an estimated $3.5 million. In South Korea the take was $3.4 million.

"Spider-Man 3" cast a worldwide web with a blockbuster first day, hauling in $29.15 million in 16 overseas markets and beating the debuts of the previous two "Spider-Man" flicks in each locale.

The film had the best opening day ever Tuesday in some countries, including France, Italy, South Korea and Hong Kong, distributor Sony Pictures said.
