Default Good Films to Watch 2008

I thought it would be fun to make a list of some of last year's great movies: good films to watch from 2008. In no particular order, here are 40 good films from 2008:
  1. Semi Pro - I'm a sucker for Will Ferrell stuff.
  2. No Country For Old Men - Great stuff - can't wait to see The Road this year, too.
  3. Walk Hard - Very funny movie.
  4. The Pineapple Express - Not as funny as I'd expected.
  5. Cloverfield - Possibly the best movie of 2008.
  6. There Will Be Blood - What a performance.
  7. Burn After Reading - Not as good as some of the Coen Brothers other stuff, but better than most everything.
  8. Wall-E - Surprisingly good.
  9. The Incredible Hulk - Especially good if you liked the old television show.
  10. Iron Man - I can't wait for the sequel to this one.
  11. The Dark Knight - I'm still doing my Joker impersonation.
  12. Appaloosa - I wish Hollywood made more Westerns.
  13. Choke - Love Sam Rockwell.
  14. Diary of the Dead - George Romero is back, baby!
  15. Doubt - Great Meryl Streep performance.
  16. Forgetting Sarah Marshall - Funny romantic comedy for Judd Apatow fans. (I don't think Apatow made the movie, but fans will like it.)
  17. Four Christmases - I'm a sucker for Vince Vaughn and for Christmas movies.
  18. Frost/Nixon - Watch it for the performances.
  19. Funny Games - Watch it because it's bizarre.
  20. The Grand - Hysterical, especially Ray Romano.
  21. Gran Torino - Get off my lawn.
  22. Hamlet 2 - Steve Coogan may or may not be an asshole, but he's funny as hell.
  23. The Hammer - Probably the best least-watched good film of 2008.
  24. The Happening - Better than you'd think.
  25. Henry Poole is Here - Really good.
  26. Igor - Fun and different animated movie.
  27. In Bruges - Not what I expected, but very good.
  28. In the Name of the King - This is possibly one of the worst movies of the year, but I had more fun watching it than almost anything else.
  29. Lakeview Terrace - Samuel Jackson chomps on the scenery.
  30. Let the Right One In - Best horror movie of the decade.
  31. Rachel Getting Married - Great performances and music.
  32. Run Fat Boy Run - Surprising romantic comedy.
  33. The Signal - One of the best zombie movies ever, and one of the most original.
  34. Slumdog Millionaire - Academy award winner.
  35. Speed Racer - I liked it. I know some people didn't, but I liked it.
  36. Step Brothers - Love Will Ferrell.
  37. Tropic Thunder - OMG this was funny.
  38. Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show - Especially if you're a fan of Buck Owens. And I am.
  39. The Visitor - Great performance from Jenkins.
  40. When Did You Last See Your Father? - Good British fare, but not for everyone.

Okay, which good films to watch from 2008 did I miss?

a little irish indie called "red roses and petrol" came out in 2008, and out on DVD now, and it was very good, esp for lovers of malcolm mcdowell and flogging molly!!
