Default Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Have you guys seen Kiss Kiss Bang Bang yet? I finally watched it last night with the fiance and we both really enjoyed it. It's really one of the better flicks I've seen this year. It reminded me of a combination of Sin City and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Robert Downey Jr., Val Kilmer, and Michelle Monaghan all did great. If you haven't seen this yet, I recommend you go pick it up tonight.

I subscribe to Netflix, and I just so happened to put it in my queue earlier today.

I'm hoping for great things, as Kilmer's career has been pretty spotty in recent years. And to think, just a few years ago he was one of the hottest actors on the planet.

I remember it getting some good buzz, and I saw Robert Downey promoting it on a talk show. Unfortunately, it must have really bombed at the box office, because I never heard anything else about it until I noticed that it was coming out on DVD.

Indieangler, any idea why it had such a poor box office showing? Too violent, too quirky, or was it just one of those films that slipped through the cracks?

I believe that it was really kind of an indepedent smaller and cheaper film and it wasn't very big in the box office anywhere. The movie didn't come to any theaters remotely close to me in Fayetteville, AR, a decent sized college town.

I actually remember when me and the fiance were down in Dallas/Fort Worth about 6-7 months ago and we thought about trying to see if Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was playing down there because it wasn't playing near us. We had heard about it for awhile and wanted to see it. I think it was just a smaller film.

However, Blockbuster had tons of them on the shelves for rent and it really is one of the best flicks I've seen this year, in my opinion.
