Default Rambo IV: In the Serpent's Eye

While the film doesn't have a domestic distributor yet, Rambo IV is expected to start filming October 1 in Thailand.

Sylvester Stallone has been quoted as saying that he called Soldier of Fortune magazine to get their opinion on who Rambo should face next and asked, "'What is the most critical man-doing-inhumanity-to-man situation right now in the world? Where is it?'" The answer was Burma.

He has written a first draft of the script with Art Monterastelli (The Hunted), which finds Rambo living a monastic lifestyle in Bangkok and salvaging old PT boats and tanks for scrap metal. When a group of volunteers bringing supplies into Burma disappears, a relative of one of the missing missionaries begs Rambo to find them.

Rambo then heads off with a team of young guns to find the relative.

The times being what they are, I would have figured Rambo would fight terrorists. I guess he's a Far Eastern kind of guy.

I imagine they wanted to avoid the backlash which would follow Rambo gunning down turban-wearing stereotypes. No doubt, Muslim groups would find the portrayel racist (and probably rightfully so).

Besides, when Soldier of Fortune magazine gives you a tip, you'd be crazy not to act on it. Man, being a journalist for that magazine sounds like it would be a real trip.

Very odd. This movie should at least have the virtue of being unique...at least in that respect.

Here's a link to some pics. What is it with Stallone. Seems like he's just going back and doing sequels to all his hits. Can Cliffhanger 2 be far behind?

The title has now been changed to just Rambo.

It opens on January 25th, 2008.

If it does well, can a sequel to Cliffhanger be far behind?

Let's just hope that it does well, hope this sequel can caught up with our expectations, cause when you talk about Rambo its all about non stop action...

I hear it's actually pretty good, in a funny/bad kind of way. Like the violence is just so gratuitous apparently. Have you heard that Stallone takes Human Growth Hormone? He is sixty afterall. I'll be heading to the theatre to see this one soon.

I honestly didn't expect anything good in this movie, but a friend told me it was a good movie.
