Here's a somewhat updated list of the cast.

Malcolm McDowell - Dr. Loomis
Daeg Faerch - Young Michael Myers
Tyler Mane - Adult Michael Myers
Danielle Harris - Annie Brackett
Sheri Moon Zombie - Deborah Myers
Hanna R. Hall - Judith Myers
Dee Wallace Stone - Cynthia Strode
Pat Skipper - Mason Strode
William Forsythe - Ronnie White
Lew Temple - Nole Kluggs
Danny Trejo - Ismael Cruz
Ken Foree - Big Joe Grizzley

Nice to see Dee Wallace Stone getting some work.

Danielle Harris was also in parts 4 and 5 as a young girl. She's all grown-up now and quite lovely.

Adrienne Barbeau and Clint Howard (pictured) have joined the cast of his prequel/remake, along with Courtney (CHILDREN OF THE CORN) Gains and Daryl (SPY KIDS trilogy) Sabara. It is unknown at this time what their roles will be.

And in really exciting news...the role of Sheriff Brackett will be played by none other than Brad Douriff (Exorcist 3, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Deadwood, etc.). Now that's going to really rock. The sheriff and the doctor may be creepier than The Shape!

Great news all around. Dourif has always been one of my favorite character actors. He will no doubt do a great job.

Actress Scout Taylor-Compton will serve as Jamie Lee Curtis’ successor. She co-starred in J.S. Cardone’s WICKED LITTLE THINGS and appears in the forthcoming AN AMERICAN CRIME. Rob Zombie also reports that Udo Kier—who recently worked with the director on the GRINDHOUSE faux trailer WEREWOLF WOMEN OF THE S.S.—is Morgan Walker, head of Smith’s Grove Sanitarium, and Kristina Klebe is playing Lynda, the role formerly filled by P.J. Soles in John Carpenter’s original film.

Default Strode Light for Halloween

Last week we heard news that Rob Zombie was putting work on his re-vision of Halloween on hold for a major script revision. That rumor looks to be pretty much debunked as Coming Soon announces the casting of Halloween’s heroine, Laurie Strode.
Originally played by Jamie Lee Curtis, the part is now going to Scout Taylor-Compton, if the news is to be believed. Taylor-Compton has a range of experience in both television and film, but her biggest role to date appears to be in Alexa Vega’s Sleepover. So we’ve gone from a kiddie-sleepover movie to being the stalked babysitter. Her IMDB bio also lists her as being part of Sky High and The Princess Diaries 2, although it looks like she just worked on ADR for the two films.

"Michael Myers does not know how to drive in this movie," the long-haired, tattooed filmmaker told MTV over the weekend on the set of his highly anticipated remake of one of horror's most beloved slasher films (see "Rob Zombie Resurrecting Michael Myers For New 'Halloween' "). "[Myers in the station wagon] always bothered me. They would always play that off like someone must have given him lessons, but you know no one gave him lessons! He's in a maximum-security prison! So, no, he doesn't drive."

· McDowell and Taylor-Compton say they'd return for additional "Halloween" sequels, but Zombie insists he's done after one. ("Everything I've wanted to do I've done with this movie," he remarked.)

The trailer looks great. I don't think the original movie is tired in any way, but I look forward to Zombie's interpretation.
