You're just intentionally picking people who would annoy me, aren't you? Why not throw Bill Murray into the mix (although, for the record, I like Bill Murray)?

According to http://www.sherimoonzombie.net/, the Cinematical plot synopsis is completely bogus and untrue. The official site for the Halloween movies is at http://www.halloweenmovies.com/, btw. Looks like there's a new documentary out about the films; might be worth checking out.

IN a recent interview with MTV, writer/director Rob Zombie reveals that the script for the Halloween movie is now complete, and that he’s taking a revisionist approach to the early adventures of Michael Myers and Dr. Sam Loomis.

“Horror-movie remakes for the most part don’t work," Zombie tells the site. “They just imitate the original. They don’t try to do something new and different, they just follow it. And if you’re going to follow the original, then there’s no point because that movie already exists.”

Zombie’s HALLOWEEN will not be a prequel, as previously reported, but “a remake with more backstory built into it,” according to the filmmaker, who will put Michael front and center.

“He’s not just a faceless thing floating around in the background and then you focus on these girls,” Zombie says. “I feel that that’s where you can make it different and more intense. One of the things that has happened over the years to all those [slasher] characters is that they become friendly. Michael Myers and Jason and Freddy and Pinhead aren’t scary anymore because they’re so familiar. I thought we had to find a way to go back and start fresh and remove everyone’s preconceived ideas about what they think this character is, because no one thinks they can be scared by it again. It’s almost like Santa Claus.”

Look for Dr. Loomis’ role to be beefed up as well. “I felt the character just popped in and out when they needed somebody to say something dramatic,” Zombie says. “I wanted his story to feel more intertwined with Michael in a way that means something—which they did in the original, but sometimes it feels like he disappears for a long period and then just pops up to go, ‘He's evil!’ ”

Apparently, the filmmaker has a “what if?” list of names to play the character, ranging from Jeff Bridges to Ben Kingsley (Zombie film regular Sid Haig’s name has also been flying around the Internet as a casting possibility). “There is no shortage of late-50s, early-60s male actors who are amazing and would like to work more, probably much like Donald Pleasence at the time [he was cast as the original Loomis].”

Default Malcolm McDowell Will Play Dr. Loomis

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'm not a big fan of Malcolm McDowell at all. link.

I've gotten used to watching him play a villain. It will be weird to see a thinner Loomis running around.

Michael Myers has been cast.

(Drum roll please)

It will be Tyler Man, who played Sabertooth in the 1st X-Men movie and worked with Zombie in The Devil's Rejects (where he played Rufus Jr.).

Can't wait to see who gets the Jamie Lee Curtis role.

It's hard to imagine Jeff Goldblum being cast in that role.

I am willing to give McDowell a try, but I've never been much of a fan, either.

Most of his roles, he just doesn't really seem that charismatic. He's not bad in any way, but not great. A Clockwork Orange was a long time ago.

I think he's trying to project a cool sense of English detachment, for whatever that's worth.

As far as Jeff Goldblum goes, check out Mr. Frost if you have a chance, although I don't think it's available on DVD. Goldblum plays the Devil and does an excellent job. Cool movie.

McDowell will rock. He was great in Clockwork Orange (by the way, has anyone seen the porn version called A Clockwork Orgy?), and he'll be great in this one. Let Myers be the creepy guy. Loomis will be a smarter and more dangerous opponent. PLeaseance was short and fat.

Too bad Kane Hodder didn't get to play Myers. He was lobbying for it hard.

I for one think that this movie is going to be awesome. I loved Rob's first two films and he stated that he knows how other horror remakes give the original's a bad name and thats not going to be his approach to this one.
