Default The Crazies Movie - Discuss It Here

The shit hits the fan in a small Iowa town when the local water supply is contaminated. The infected start going nuts, killing anyone in sight. Then the military arrives, and things go from bad to worse. Can the local sheriff (Timothy Olyphant) and his wife (Radha Mitchell) make it out alive.

Discuss The Crazies movie here...

I've been looking forward to seeing this movie for a long time now, since I saw the original trailer! I love the original movie (a lot of people don't seem to realize this is actually a remake of a classic George Romero horror movie from the '70s!), and I'm looking forward to seeing how they're able to explore the story more with a better budget. It's been getting great reviews so far - Total Film gave it 4 stars, and the New York Times had a really interesting write-up about the movie as a horror film being a positive tool towards social change (weird, I know, but you should read it - it's kind of neat).

I'll be there on opening night this Friday!

Will do - I'll be there tomorrow night. In the meantime, it looks like "The Crazies" may be even better than expected; I was shocked this morning to see that Rotten Tomatoes finally listed "The Crazies" on the Tomatometer, and it's sitting at a whopping 82% Fresh!!! That's amazing for a horror movie - normally, anything over 60% is considered really strong.

Zombie type movies seem to be all the rage these days.
