Default Shutter Island - Discuss the Shutter Island Movie

Shutter Island is directed by Martin Scorsese, and it stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Emily Mortimer and Mark Ruffalo. Mortimer plays a psychotic killer (Mortimer) who somehow disappears from a mental institution on Shutter Island. This prompts a pair of U.S. Marshals (Ruffalo and DiCaprio) to visit the facility in order to track her down, but all is not as it seems.

It opens on February 19th, 2010. Chime in when you've seen it.

Did you find the ending predictable, or were you surprised?

I wouldn't say it was predictable. The movie leaves it up to the viewer whether or not the main character is actually crazy or if it really was some strange government testing island.

I found the ending rather predictable. However, that does not mean I didn't find the movie not only very entertaining, but also very well narrated and coherent. The music is good (Hans Zimmer! How wouldn't it), and the performances are quite good. I don't really like Di Caprio as an actor, but he's not bad here. To all of you who still haven't, watch the movie! The best Scorsese's film after "Goodfellas" (in my opinion).
