The Book of Eli
Denzel Washington walks the post-apocalyptic landscape in The Book of Eli. The book in question is the last remaining copy of the King James Bible, and a small-town warlord (Gary Oldman) is willing to kill to own its power. Also starring Mila Kunis, Jennifer Beals and Ray Stevenson.

I saw it, and was a bit disappointed. It was an interesting idea, somewhat, but the script was sloppy; there were WAAAAAY too many instances of Denzel's character basically being saved by "the power of God" as a cheap way out of an otherwise insurmountable situation - hailstorms of bullets missing him, near-instant recovery from wounds that were thought to be fatal, etc. Talk about "deus ex machina" to the extreme!

I thought it was an awesome movie. I thought Denzel Washington was really good and Mila Kunis played her part very very well. Loads of action and awesome fight scenes. Very interesting premise too, I felt the plot was quite different from anything else.
In saying this, I am a sucker for Post-Apocalyptic films. I loved The Road and any films that are along these lines. Regardless, if you like action movies you will probably like The Book of Eli.
