"Blomkamp and Jackson use a documentary style to add a heightened sense of realism to the proceedings, and though it seems promising in the beginning, it later appears to be an excuse to shoot virtually the entire movie with handheld cameras, even in scenes where the 'documentary' cameras would not really be present."

I just spoke with a buddy of mine in Canada who works in the film industry. He was on his way to the theater to watch District 9 for a second time. He said the film is just amazing. I can't wait to watch it. It's not out in Taiwan yet.

after watching this, i felt like i was watching hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, i closed the movie after 5 min. it was pointless, storie was goin nowhere, crappy acting, , worst in hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, you could see the aliens were wearing leather suits with zippers on the side. worst movie i seen in a long time. i usually like scifi movies, but this one was in no way near scifi. rob zombie suk at directing movies and he would have done better then this.

You closed the movie after 5 minutes and still feel your opinion is valid? Also by "closed the movie" I assume you mean you downloaded the movie illegally.

its called torrents and in my area its legal dl movies and music other wise i would not play with fire. second of all do u know anyone that dont dl movie illegally on the web ? i doubt that alot and shurely not just a few , times 1000000x . closing it meaning stopping it.. and were not on a dl movies subject i posted my opinion on how i liked the movie i dont have to justify what i dl to no one.

There are plenty of people who don't download movies illegally on the web. Gee whiz. I love it when people point out that what they're doing is okay because "everyone does it". How absurd.

I really loved this movie. Even though it wasn't the best of transitions I love how it went from a sci-fi documentary style movie to action movie featuring a robot suit and a lightning gun.

I suppose it's my age...

you know what.. i just saw the movie and let me tell you its fantastic.. 3d effects are sooo good, it almost looks real..lol...
its very fun too watch.. i realy recomend..

The effects is superb...but the story is pointless...

I haven't seen this yet but I have heard good things about it and I'm looking forward to renting it. From the sounds of it, I should turn my brain off if I want to enjoy it?
