I loved The Kid Stays in the Picture, and that director has a new doc coming up that I'm psyched about--it's about midwest high school kids. I also loved Go Tigers, about high school football in Ohio, and I loved the book, movie and show of Friday Night Lights--something about high school stories just grab me (I'm also down with John Hughes and those classic 80's high school movies--Footloose, Some Kind of Wonderful, you name it). Trailer looks great, it killed at Sundance, and the reviews are all looking good. Sweet soundtrack, too--they've got MGMT on there. Gonna be good.

Found a ton more info on their facebook page--they really went all out, not your usual boring site--great info and detail. There's stuff about meeting or chatting with the cast, upcoming screenings, fun little stuff like buttons, but also great info on the soundtrack and stuff:
http://www.facebook.com/americanteen And a really fun application to find out what 'type' you were in high school--jock, princess, rebel, etc. I was a geek. Shocker! |

I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie American Teen. I heard it was a huge hit at Sundance so I'm glad that it's finally opening this weekend (in LA and New York at least). There's a trailer for it here: http://www.americanteenthemovie.com/
