Default HSX Buzz

Courtesy of HSX.com, here are the top 10 movies creating a buzz in the world of the Hollywood Stock Exchange.

Avatar (AVATR)
After a decade of procrastinating through deep-sea diving and Aqua-Man, James Cameron (JCAME) will finally direct his long-in-development follow-up to Titanic.

The Mummy 3 (MUMY3)
Rob Cohen (RCOHE), the director of CG-bloated Stealth, has been tapped to take over the third film in the franchise from director Stephen Sommers (SSOMM), who’s never met a shot he’s yet to CG.

Indiana Jones 4 (INDI4)
After an even longer hiatus than Cameron, the triumvirate of George Lucas (GLUCA), Steven Spielberg (SSPIE) and Harrison Ford (HFORD) will finally bring back the original cinematic archeologist to show how it’s done without any CG help.

The Hobbit (HOBIT)
Robert Shaye, The CEO of New Line, vowed Peter Jackson (PJACK) will never direct another film for the studio. After the blockbuster success of The Last Mimzy (MIMZY), Shaye will direct the prequel to The Lord of the Rings himself.

Blades of Glory (BLDGL)
As if Tanya Harding hadn’t done enough damage already, Will Ferrell (WFERR) gives his spin on the world of figure skating. It would be hilarious if Sacha Baron Cohen (SBCOH) cameos as Sasha Cohen.

Disturbia (DSTRB)
Shia Labeouf (SLABE) thinks he’s spotted a murder out of his Rear Window, yet doesn't bother to call 911.

The Lookout (LKOUT)
The thriller stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (JGORD) as a mentally handicapped former athlete who must rely on Memento to outsmart a gang of criminals.

Spider-Man 3 (SPID3) & Transformers (TFORM)
Toy mock-ups have revealed the villains from two of this summer’s blockbusters. Sam Raimi (SRAIM) has got Venom right, but Michael Bay (MBAY) - that’s not the Megatron we remember.

Bratz (BRATZ)
Paula Abdul has joined the cast of the live-action film based on the doll line. What this film really needs is a cameo by M.C. Skat Kat.

Alvin and the Chipmunks (ALVIN)
As if Garfield wasn’t scary enough, Fox (FOXX) has scheduled a live-action/CG mix film of the singing squirrels for this holiday season.

I think I've bought all of them... not so sure... I'll go and check later.

But AVATR, MUMY3, INDI4, BLDGL, SPID3 & TFORM are must-haves.
