Off the Beaten Track....
Anyone whose read my posts so far will know that I like more obscure films and genres out there.
So here's a thread to recommend directors that haven't got an Oscar next to the toilet or have billion dollar opening weekend. So, post your underachieving filmmakers and favoured journeymen here Ruggero Deodato Vilified for directing Cannibal Holocaust, one of the most banned and censored films in the mainstream consciousness, Deodato can also claim to have influenced the Blair Witch Project with his gut munching epic, as well as producing a host of weird, marginal grindhouse movies like the super violent jungle adventure Cut & Run and the strange erotic horror, The Washing Machine

What a weird-acting dude, but he's made quite a few interesting films. Sadly, none of them are really remembered by the general public. I still need to see Ms. 45, although watching Harvey Keitel prance around naked in Bad Lieutenant was a real treat.
