Mostly in his native Austria and France. "Cache" is his best known film. I heartily recommend the controversial original version of "Funny Games", which he's remade shot-for-shot as a big-budget movie recently. The new version's out in cinemas early next year.

Gotta go with the Coen bros. again. If you watch their latest masterpiece, you'll see why.

In USA - Jim Jarmush and Tim Burton.

Jim Jarmush - because he is one of rare really independent director in USA... and his films are great

Tim Buron - because he is one of rare directors in Hollywood who has his own style no matter how expensive film is... and his style... well... he has funky hair
