It looks like Spike Lee may finally be doing that World War II film that he's been talking about for three or four years. Lee is now signed on to shoot 'Miracle at Santa Anna', the tale of an all-black Army division trapped in a small Tuscan town. The script will follow four young soldiers who must contend not only with the Nazi army, but the racism of their commanding officers.

I wonder if John Turturro will play Hitler?

this sounds great...... I dont think a WW2 movie has been made in a while. Spike Lee is such a great director, Im sure he'l do a brilliant job.

Especially as the Italians have just mandated the fingerprinting of all Italians--originally the government was just going to fingerprint just the margnialised Roma, but now, due to accusations of racial prejudice, they have to fingerprint everyone. MLK Jr.'s nephew went to a convention in Italy and criticized the policy. I understand the movie by Lee will remind the Italians of the problems raised by racial profiling...
