Five days after "Watchmen" hits theaters, "Tales of the Black Freighter," the comic-within-the-comic, will be released on DVD. According to The New York Times, the same DVD will contain a documentary-style film called "Under the Hood" which will be the original Nite Owl's account of his fellow costumed vigilantes.

Zack Snyder will likely direct both of these additional films, and has cast his "300" lead actor, Gerard Butler, as the protagonist of "Black Freighter" (Empire). Syder has said that though the DVDs will initially be released separately, there may in time be an "ultimate" edition that fuses the two features into one "megamovie."

That's wild - the marketing company I work for is doing a promotion for the DVD! Unfortunately they didnt give us any free samples - lol. I'm pumped to pick it up on Tuesday when it comes out. It will be a huge release day with "Quantum of Solace" coming out as well. Anyone else stoked for the Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter DVD?
