According to a Keanu Reeves fansite (presumably the most reliable Keanu Reeves resource out there), Reeves will not be appearing in Zack Snyder's Watchmen adaptation as had been rumored. According to the fansite, producer Erwin Stoff told them that Keanu "was offered it and turned it down."

Thank God!

Keanu Reeves is out as Dr. Manhattan. Folks originally thought it was because he just didn't want to participate in the project. Sources now are claiming that Reeves thought the studio was lowballing his salary, so he didn't take part.

- The newest casting rumors for Dr. Manhattan are pointing at either Billy Crudup, an actor Zach Snyder had mentioned earlier, or Jason Patric.

- The Comedian is still floating around with out an actor, and rumors have moved from Ron Pearlman, to Nathan Fillion.

I've heard that Zack Snyder wants Thomas Jane to play The Comedian. Now, it's up to Jane to accept the offer.

Give him a big porno moustache and I could certainly seen Jane as The Comedian.

Thomas Jane would be good as the Comedian, but you know who else would be great in that role?

After dropping out of The Punisher sequel, he should have the free time.

Here are a few other guys that I could see as The Comedian:

1. Aaron Eckhart
2. Vin Diesel
3. Bruce Willis

Vin Diesel would suck, but Aaron Eckhart would be nice. He seems about the right build. Willis would be interesting, but I'm afraid his starpower might overshadown the role. Then again, the Comedian is a small role, so Willis dying right at the beginning of the movie might really get audiences to sit up and pay attention.

There's now talk circulating that Billy Crudup (Almost Famous) has been cast as Dr. Manhattan. Supposedly Crudup's casting will be announced, amongst others, at the Comic-Con Watchmen panel, presided over by director Zach Snyder.
