Take a look at this list compiled by CTV.ca (I have no idea who the hell they are). Feel free to discuss among yourselves....

In no particular order:

what makes them controversial in the first place? The Exorcist movie is really a good one.. and so as the "Hostel"...

I know that Peeping Tom was highly controversial. It's considered a classic, but I understand that it almost ruined the director's career because there was such an uproar. I don't know if it ever played in the states. Seems like it was mainly a UK film.

I see.. who directed that movie again? I think controversial films rarely made it to box office..

Imdb says "Years ahead of its time and still one of the most disturbing and psychologically complex horror films ever made!"
Rating 7.8 which is considered near to classic.
