Personally, I think Schindler's List is way too high at #8.

The Searchers is way too high on the list. While I enjoyed the movie, all that wacky slapstick at the wedding killed the tone of the movie for me. The Sinkiller was particularly goofy, IMHO.

I imagine your opinion is just as vaild as the people who put the list together. What's their qualification? They've seen a lot of movies? Well, so have we!

well, if you ask me, and, like, nobody usually does,... cause I just sit here on the drums,... and nobody really notices me,... or cares one way or the other what me thoughts are, or may have been at one time or another,
but if you ask me,.... I'd say the Lord of the Rings should not be on there, cause it's like, not a legitamate piece of cinema or narration
which is to say, I prefer the book, or would if I had read it.... cause I've read the Hobbit Time and time again until it became The Habbit
I used to just sit in a hole in the ground, and read The Hobbit,.. and pretend I was one, whenever things weren't going me way. And I think this Tolkien fellow; he's a fine writer indeed, but they've murdered his thoughts on film. But the cartoons are keen, and I've seen the Hobbit cartoon time and time again, and will see it many more times to come. Put those cartoons up there if you want to fix the list

You're not chained to that drum set, are you? If so, is Paul responsible?

Well, this kind of list is always partial, IMO. Even if the best directors and movie experts of the world had done it, it still would be partial.
Movies are particular. You like it, someone else doesn't. Of course, there are movies most people like, but it's almost impossible to say "this is THE best movie".
It's AFI's opinion, may not be the Academy' opinion. May not be your opinion. You shouldn't take it as the complete and unchanging true, but as a point of view. At least that's what I always try to do.
