Recently, Hollywood seems to be in love with taking classic horror movies and giving them a modern make-over. This is the place to talk about those that worked and those that were scary for all the wrong reasons.

1. Dawn of the Dead - Slick and fast-paced. Sure, it might have lacked the heavy-handed social commentary of the original, but it made up for it with ass-kicking action sequences. I enjoyed it far more than the original.
2. The Hills Have Eyes - Pretty much the exact same movie. A little more gory, but they really stuck to the original plot. |

I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard that the remake of The Fog was absolutely awful.

I think the remake of "the dark water" is not as good as the original Japaneses version. I am not saying the hollywood version is not good, but the original version is way better than it
