Taxi Driver is a 1976 American film drama directed by Martin Scorsese and written by Paul Schrader. It is frequently praised for its strong performances and gritty realism. The film is also notable for making stars out of both its leading actors, Robert De Niro and Jodie Foster; the latter was only thirteen years old when the movie was released. It was also the last film the legendary composer Bernard Herrmann (famed for his work with Alfred Hitchcock, especially Psycho) completed work on, and Taxi Driver is dedicated to his memory.
