Is Jack Black losing his star power, or was he never more than glorified comic relief?

Personally, I think he's like John Goodman. Excellent in a supportin role, but he doesn;t have the star power to carry a movie.
At first when you said 'like John Goodman' i was like wtf!? Then when i read the second half of your sentence i agreed.

Still, there are many who've made the jump from supporting to lead dog, i think he's just gotta pick his roles more carefully. Hollywood's dangerous, pick too many stinkers and you'll be left with the smell.

The women in the family sure liked his role in The Holiday. Don't know if that's a good sign or not.

I didn't see it myself. Apparently, he was one of the romantic co-leads, along with Jude Law.

Jack Black may be too old for performance but no one can ignore his career which has lots of hard work and I like that.
