i recently saw zombieland and enjoyed the cameo by bill murray so much, it really got me thinking about how many films he's done and reminded me just how fantastic he is. so name your favorite bill murray movie, whether it's his silliness in STRIPES or his dark comedic timing in RUSHMORE.
also love love love WHAT ABOUT BOB!! |

Yeah, I loved him in Zombieland. There's so many to choose from, Scrooged, Meatballs, Ghostbusters, The Royal Tenenbaums, and yes, What About Bob is great. But I'd have to go with Caddyshack, he really pulls out some genius acting for that role.

Any choice is a good one, but I'd probably go with Stripes. It seems to really highlight Murray as a complete smartass, which is where he always excelled.

5. Lost in Translation (2003) – This might be one of the lesser known Bill Murray films though it is one of his best acting performances in a slight differently role (more dramatic). Murray plays an older businessman who oddly manages to make a romantic connection with a younger woman (Scarlett Johanssen). The film is currently ranked in the IMdb Top #250 movies of all time.
4. Caddyshack (1980) - This is the reprentative of the old guard in terms of best Bill Murray movies. Again, the ensemble cast was taken into account which is why this classic golf comedy was not scored even higher. 3. Ghost Busters (1984) – Based on the cultural impact and legacy of the film, Ghost Busters surely deserves to be ranked higher on the best Bill Murray movies list. However, preference was given to movies in which Murray played more of a central character. Ghost Busters was an ensemble effort. 2. What About Bob? (1991) – This was a brilliant 1991 comedy in which Murray stars as the manipulative schizophrenic patient of Dr. Leo Marvin (Richard Dreyfuss). He obsessively follows the good doctor on his family’s vacation, intruding on Leo’s family and career, yet managing to convince Leo’s wife (Julie Hagerty) and kids that he needs to be kept around. 1. Groundhog Day (1993) – There is certainly room for different opinions as to what film should be at the top of the list of Bill Murray movies. However, no Murray film was so riveting from beginning to end, featured Murray’s broad range of acting talents so well, or had a nice heartwarming story to offer.

For me.. there's an obvious favorite choice: 'What about Bob?' That's got to be one of the funniest movies of all the Bill Murray films I have seen. He was also great in Edwood and Charlie's Angels (even though the film sucked big time!!!)

I have to agree. What about Bob is my favourite. Gostbusters in second place and I love him in Zombieland as well.
