Drunken Chan Reportedly Disrupts Show
AP HONG KONG (July 11) - Jackie Chan disrupted a concert by Taiwanese singer-songwriter Jonathan Lee and exchanged insults with the audience, a news report said Tuesday. Ming Pao Daily News quoted the 52-year-old action star as saying onstage that he was drunk. Chan suddenly jumped on the stage Monday night and demanded a duet with Lee. He then tried to conduct the band but stopped and restarted the music several times, the newspaper reported. As the awkward interruption dragged on, audience members started to heckle Chan, who replied with an insult, according to the report. A spokesman for Chan, Solon So, said he hadn't seen Chan since the alleged incident and had no immediate comment. He said he didn't attend the concert. Concert organizers didn't immediately return a call seeking comment. Chan, whose Hollywood credits include the "Rush Hour" series and "The Tuxedo," was an invited performing guest at Lee's show Sunday night. |

Action superstar Jackie Chan has apologized and asked for forgiveness after getting drunk and jumping on stage at a concert on Sunday.
Chan was attending a performance by Taiwanese singer/songwriter Jonathan Lee when he unexpectedly took to the stage, starting swearing and hassling the band and Lee. Chan's pop star son Jaycee Chan, who counts Lee as musical inspiration, has also repeatedly apologized for his father's bizarre behavior. A rather embarrassed Rush Hour star later admitted to leading Hong Kong radio show host Candy Chea that he was drunk when he jumped on stage, explaining that he "forgot there were so many people watching." Chea, revealed their conservation on her show yesterday, saying, "But Chan also said this was his first time, and it had never happened before." |

I wonder what had never happened before. Being drunk, or being drunk onstage at a concert?
I'm guessing this was all part of Jackie's latest case and he's pretending to be drunk to infiltrate a Hong Kong triad or something.
