I watched "Casualties of War" by Brian De Palma yesterday, think it's great, even for this list.... also think "Downfall" is one of the best war films ever, original and powerful, Germany by Germans ... I would remove from list: "Saving Private Ryan" - don't like Spielberg's movies and "MASH"... Robert Altman is maybe great director, but MASH definitely is not "my cup of tea".
